Mental Health Foundations

An online workshop for caregivers, educators, community workers, or anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of mental health diagnoses and effective support strategies for people facing mental health challenges.

Throughout this 2-hour workshop, we’ll:

➔ Explore some of the most prevalent mental illness diagnoses individuals face in their daily lives, including depression, anxiety, personality vulnerabilities, schizophrenia, and mood disorders.

➔ Delve into these mental health conditions so you’re equipped with a nuanced awareness of the signs and symptoms you need to know about.

➔ Empower you with the knowledge and holistic approach you need to better support individuals living with mental illness.

Other key focus areas of this workshop will include:

The impact of language on the healing process: We will examine how communication, using non-judgmental and affirming language, can significantly influence the well-being of those experiencing mental health challenges. Case studies will illustrate practical examples of effective communication strategies and how to identify when someone may be struggling.

Recognising that healing journeys vary for each individual: We will emphasise the value of self-directed supports in mental health support. We will explore various treatments and supports that enhance functioning and aid in the recovery process.

The spectrum of interventions available for mental health issues, which range from mild to severe conditions: By understanding these interventions and the diverse stages individuals experience in their healing journey, participants will gain a holistic perspective on mental health support.

Join us for this online workshop as we navigate these important topics together, fostering a deeper understanding of mental health and enhancing your ability to provide compassionate and effective support.
